Official – Open House

Important note – we are no longer listed at this time, nor are we using, or do we plan to use in the future, Judy Davis Homes. We have gratefully terminated our contract. Details – While others may have had, or may have in the future, better luck with Judy Davis, we found her to be less than productive, and seemingly a little-working realtor for our needs.

We got our “Open House Sunday 2-4” sign put in yesterday. I spoke with our realtor Judy Davis (Judy Davis Homes) yesterday with a few questions. She came by in the afternoon and took care of the sign.

I got an email this morning that she has (hopefully) sent to her interested mailing list members notifying about the open house.

Bob and I and the girls too, have worked so hard painting. I’ll be so glad when the open house is over – at least this first one. I imagine it will be the hardest.

Go Judy – sell our house! 🙂

NOTE:
We are NOT selling our house with Judy Davis Homes. We have terminated our contract, happily and with great relief. Details

Trash Day

I completely forgot that today was trash day.  Thank goodness Bob remembered.  I am certain our trash man will dance in the street the day he sees a “SOLD” sign in front of our house.  The past few months we’ve been working on de-cluttering.  Many things have gone to Goodwill or the Salvation Army… but even more has been scrapped.  And the trash man feels this the most.

I was going to clean off the back porch today… will have to be tomorrow and get picked up next week by our trash man buddy.

Selling your home usually means an Open House.

I should note, we’ve never sold a house before. We didn’t even do much looking before we bought this house. Bob called a realtor. The realtor thought he had the “perfect” house for us… we pulled in the drive and knew immediately this was the house we wanted. No more looking and we’ve been here ever since.

When you have a get-together at your home, you clean it. But you know that it doesn’t have to be “perfect”. Friends and family are coming to visit, not inspect your home.

Not so with an open house. It’s quite the opposite. Everyone will be coming to inspect the house and we will be no where in sight. What I gives me the willies is knowing that every Nosey Nelly will be coming to check out our house. I told Bob I want a camera set up to see who comes. 🙂

It’s Tuesday morning, snow on the ground. Haven’t seen this much since December. Sure doesn’t feel like the first days of spring. No sign on our “For Sale” sign indicating an Open House this weekend. I imagine Judy Davis Homes probably won’t have it any time soon today, but maybe tomorrow.

We thought we’d live here forever… the past 8 years have flown past. But now, we’ve enlisted the help of a Dayton Realtor, Judy Davis, of Judy Davis Homes (a Dayton Irongate Realtor) to help us sell our home. Bob got a job at Honda and we’re relocating.

We’re leaving the Dayton area and headed to Columbus. A scary, but exciting move.

To us, our home was always an oasis, while it needed some fixing up, it was a private sanctuary we loved. A little house on a big lot with plenty of summer room…. With 6 of us, plus 2 dogs (down from 4), we just out-grew our little home. Now, we’re looking at what we refer to as “cookie-cutter” neighborhoods with more rooms and less yard.

Another stepping stone in our journey of life.

We’ll miss our home, but hope Judy Davis Homes is able to find a buyer who will love our home as much as we do/did. We have an Open House scheduled – woohoo – nothing like inviting people to snoop around your house while you aren’t even home. 😀
